Global Preservation Initiative began with two brothers and five friends.

In 2021, after watching a documentary about the loss of coral reefs, Solomon brought the idea of starting a nonprofit to his brother Aaron. Growing up snorkeling together on Oahu, they had both witnessed the decline of the ocean they loved.

Solomon believed they didn’t need craedentials to make a difference, just passion and a willingness to act. Inspired by that conviction, Aaron left his professional ballet career to pursue the idea full time.

With the support of their friends, GPI hosted its first community events in 2022 and began shaping the mission it carries today.

In 2025, Solomon passed away at 24 years old. His vision continues to live on through every student educated, volunteer engaged, and ecosystem restored.
