Position Type:
-Approximately 9-12 hours per week, three month duration (interns may be considered for extended duration if interested)
-Unpaid
Position Summary:
As an Intern, you will support our team in facilitating our cleanup, education, and consumer diversion initiatives, learning about nonprofit management, tracking the impact of our organization's operations, and working closely with our team
to implement solutions to plastic pollution and commercial fishing.
Position Responsibilities:
-Support the facilitation of cleanup and education events
-Complete data entry and impact reporting of operations
Position Requirements:
-Must be 18 years or older
-Fluent in English
-Access to reliable transportation, cell phone, internet, and computer
-Ability to lift and move at least 30 pounds
-Ability to work in rigorous terrain and unpredictable conditions including rocky coastlines and cliffsides
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
-Passionate about environmental preservation
-Willingness to learn, explore new ideas, and receive feedback
-Interested in learning about plastic pollution, commercial fishing, oceanic conservation, and GPI’s mission and strategy
-Hawaii resident
-Ability to swim and snorkel
